Bookings are now open
for the 4th UK Coaching Summit, titled ‘Delivering the Goals’,
that will take place at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel on 28th-29th
April 2009.
The Summit has become a
key event in the drive to build a world-leading coaching system
in the UK by 2016 - as was demonstrated by the success of the
last UK Coaching Summit that took place at the Ricoh Arena in
Coventry - and provides the opportunity for all those working
in the Coaching industry to network with leading figures in British
sport, hear latest developments in coach and coaching development,
meet new and existing colleagues and share best practice with
like-minded people.
Day one of the 4th UK Coaching Summit will mark the completion
of the Building the Foundations stage of the UK Coaching Framework.
It will highlight how the industry has evolved throughout the
last 3 years, focusing on the significant progress that has been
achieved as well as providing models of good practice.
Day two will look ahead
to the next phase of creating a world-leading coaching system,
Delivering the Goals . A highlight of day two will
be an exploration of the latest research project published by
sports coach UK, The Coaching Workforce 2009-2016 report,
that will be launched at the Summit. This research has been
conducted in collaboration with a number of governing bodies of
sport and the Home Country Sports Councils, and looks to establish
robust coaching workforce projections for the UK, home countries,
regions, and sports. The findings of this report and what it means
for coaching and the delivery system will be discussed.
The Summit, that is
being hosted by Sports Coach UK and Sport Scotland,
will combine keynote speeches, along with workshops that will
be streamed for the following four strands across the coaching
industry; Policy Makers, System Builders, Coach Developers and
Coaches. Although delegates can switch strands, the context will
be set for the different workshops, which will create the environment
for interesting discussions and lots of opportunities for sharing
best practice.
Places are expected to
go fast and it is advised to book early. For more information
