28 Olympic medallists to take part in Paris Grand Slam

28 Olympic medallists from Beijing will compete in the first Grand Slam of the season, which will take place in Paris this weekend (7-8th February) at the Palais Omnisports, Bercy.

Fourteen male and 14 female judokas (50% of the total medallists) who were on the podium in China last August are back to commence fighting for their London 2012 Olympic qualification.

The new world ranking system, announced by the International Judo Federation, started on the 1st January with all Grand Slams, Grand Prix events, World Cups, Masters and World Senior Championships contributing towards London 2012 selection.
