British Judo selects 11-strong team for Amsterdam Grand Prix

British Judo has selected an 11-strong team to compete at the Amsterdam Grand Prix on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November.

2011 GB World Cup gold medallist Ashley McKenzie and Estonia World Cup runner-up James Millar have been selected at -60kg, with Britain permitted to enter a maximum of two judoka per weight category.

European Championship bronze medallist Colin Oates battles in the -66kg field while 2011 IJF Masters bronze medallist Euan Burton competes in the 81kg category.

GB World Cup bronze medallists Matthew Purssey and James Austin fight in the -90kg and -100kg categories respectively.

European Championships bronze medallist Sophie Cox competes at -52kg while Belarus World Cup bronze medallist Sally Conway and British Trials silver medallist Gemma Gibbons both take to the -70kg category.

German European Cup winner Karina Bryant and British Open bronze medallist Sarah Adlington complete the selection +78kg.

Additionally, six British athletes have self-funded their participation in the event.

British Trials silver medallists Jan Gosiewski and Tom Reed campaign at -73kg and 81kg respectively.

Bosnia European Cup winner Winston Gordon takes to the -90kg field while British Trials winner Matt Clempner competes at +100kg.

Swiss Open winner Sophie Johnstone and German European Cup bronze medallist Faith Pitman complete the self-funded participation at -52kg and -63kg.
