Due to extreme weather
conditions throughout the UK it is with regret that the British
Judo Performance Team and Events Team have been left with no decision
but to cancel the 2010 U20 & Senior British Trials this weekend.
We appreciate that weather
conditions could improve before the weekend but a decision had
to be made as soon as possible, taking into account the location
of all players, coaches, staff and officials.
The main reason for the
cancellation is the dangerous travel conditions that many attendees
would face travelling to the event or that some are unable to
even attempt to attend the event due to their location. The health
& safety of our members is of paramount importance in this
circumstance.
Both events will remain
cancelled even if the weather conditions improve over the coming
days.
The Events Team will endeavour
to contact all entrants from both events to advise them directly
and also to advise that all players will be due a full refund
for their entry. For club entries that were received, the club
will receive the refund for those entries. Please bear with us
as this process will take a little time due to the amount of refunds
that are required.
Communication from the
Performance Team will follow over the next 48 hours regarding
the process for identifying the 2010 British Squads.
Please when you read this,
if you know of anyone that was due to be participating in the
event, please also advise them that the event is cancelled. The
more ways we can communicate to everyone that the event is now
cancelled, will hopefully reduce the possibility of anyone turning
up at the weekend.
