2010 Technical Congress and Annual General Meeting

Competition Judo is the theme for this year’s Congress with the BJA's competitive pathway being the thread which will run through the programme of keynote presentations and workshops. There will be also be workshops, presentations and updates on many of the BJA's programmes and activities.

We have put together what we consider will be an interesting, stimulating and thought provoking programme which will cater for the expected broad range of delegates who will attend. Not to be missed is the Congress Dinner which is available as an option. This is great opportunity to network and to meet and discuss items of common interest with other like-minded members.

This year we have changed the dates and venue for both the Congress and Annual General Meeting. The new venue is the will be held at the Leicester Marriot Hotel, Smith Way, Grove Park, Enderby, Leicester LE19 1SW on the 16th and 17th October 2010.

The Annual General Meeting will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 17th October 2010 commencing at 1.45pm with registration from 1.00pm. The meeting agenda and relevant documentation will be circulated to member clubs at the appropriate time.

The 2009 AGM Minutes are available here.

The 2009 Annual Technical Congress was judged by those who attended to have been the best so far (see reports in January 2010 edition of Matside). The feedback was very positive and there was some excellent suggestions on how the programme could be further improved. Our goal is one of continuous improvement and we aim to make this year's Congress even better.

We are also aware of the cost involved in attending the Congress, even though each delegate is partially subsidised by the BJA, it can be a barrier for some. I’m therefore pleased to inform you, that this year the BJA have been able to maintain their subsidy to keep the cost to delegates as low as possible.
