The Elite Performance
squad is formed from medallists at the British Closed Championships
which are held each year in December.
In addition to medallists
the High Performance Directorate may co-opt players onto the Squad
taking the following
into account:
• Results and
performances at:
• Senior World
Championships
• Olympic Games
• Senior European
Championships
• ‘Super A’
Tournaments
• ‘A’ Tournaments
• ‘B’ Tournaments
• Junior World
Championships
• Junior European
Championships
• Other major
events deemed appropriate
• Other influences:
• Injuries
• Work and study
commitments
In Previous years a
ranking system using various events around the country was used
to form the Senior National Squad. Whilst this system is
no longer in use the rankings lists are published here for information.
