- Foundation/introduction level:
Clubs,schools and other groups providing introductory
opportunities in judo.
- Judo clubs:Clubs provide both an introduction
to the sport and a regular participation opportunity,
taking players through to area and national squad level.
- High Quality Skills Centres
(HQSCs):Clubs with a reputation in producing national
squad players and,in this context,in
receipt of financial support from the BJA.
- High Quality Practice Centres
(HQPCs):These provide regular (weekly)quality practice
(randori)sessions free of charge to World Class named/national
squad players in return for financial support from the
BJA via its World Class funding Programme.
- English Institute of Sport (EIS)
Judo Centres:These are intended to refine the best players
in the country into medalists at major events. The development
of EIS Judo Centres will enable the best players to be
brought together to receive quality full- time training
and to meet the educational needs of those players. The
network of facilities will complement the existing club
and performance structure.Playersattending these centres
will still require high quality practice sessions and
will continue to compete for their clubs.

be over the coming 12 months be opening facilities at
the following locations:
- Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield
- Bath University, Bath
- Bisham Abbey, Marlow, Bucks
- Wolverhamption University, Wolverhampton
