The programme of National Dan Gradings continues to go from strength to strength.

Created as a tool to help British Judo recover from the lockdowns, the first National Grading at High Wycombe last October attracted 100 entrants, and there were then strong turnouts for gradings at York and Kidderminster (Kidderminster being ladies only on that occasion).

Last Saturday, the second High Wycombe National Dan Grading attracted 105 entrants. This included 29 women, of which 12 were dan grade, and 31 male dan grades. VI and Adaptive players were also catered for.

This coming Saturday, the next National Dan Grading is at Samurai Judo Club in Kidderminster, this time for men only. Entries are still coming in, and entry on the day is allowed (though entry in advance is preferred and cheaper), but there are already enough players to ensure that line-ups should be possible for all grades up to 3rd dan going for 4th dan. There are not yet quite enough 4th dan players to ensure line-ups from 4th to 5th dan, but hopefully there will be by the day, and 4th dans will at least get point-scoring opportunities. The aim is to be able to offer all players a minimum of FIVE contests.

Entry is via the Judo Technologies Online Entry system. If planning to come on the day, an email letting the organisers know would be appreciated
