Oxford Judo, the home of
Oxford University and Oxford City Judo Clubs, retained the team
trophy at the London University Championships on Saturday 12 February
at Brunel University.
Members of both Oxford
University and Oxford Brookes shone as they achieved three gold
medals, five silver and two bronze.
There was strong performance
across as the board as Jordan Doherty, Rachel Norris, Max Denning,
Alex Jones and Kabalan Gaspard all impressed.

“This high standard had
been set by many of the same players competing at the Warwick
Invitational Championships the previous weekend, in which the
men’s and women’s teams both gained bronze medals,” a club statement
said.

The Oxford University Sports
Federation Club of the Year continued their success after Saturday’s
event with some excellent performances at the Northern Home Counties

Jones took gold while Rebecca Bayliss, James Shepherd and Justin

its highly-successful start to 2011 with another victory at the
