is with sadness that we report the passing of Chris Hopkinson who
died on Sunday 4th January 2004. Chris was the chief Coach and driving
force behind Bury Judokwai and made a massive contribution to Coach
Education within the North West Area over the years as Chairman
of the Coaching and Technical sub-committee.
Chris had a talent for provoking Coaches to challenge their own
understanding of the sport of Judo and was a great influence on
many of the prominent Coaches in the North West Area today.
Chris had been ill for some time and leaves a wife Beryl, two
sons and a daughter – he was also a devoted grandfather
to their children and will be sadly missed.
The funeral will take place at 10:00am on Friday 9th
January at Agecroft Crematorium, Langley Road, Pendlebury, Swinton,
SALFORD M27 8SS.
