Kin Ryu Judo Club claimed the Club of the Year award and volunteer Peter Seymour won the Sussex Unsung Award at the Sussex Sport Awards 2011.

Head Coach, Martin Rivers said: "Kin Ryu Judo club are very pleased and honoured to win the Sussex Club of the Year.

"We would like to thank everyone who voted for us. 2011 has been an incredible year
for the club, we have had some great competitive successes, seen our players numbers
grow, had new coaches qualify and have gained our Clubmark for the third consecutive
time.

"As a club we are fortunate to have great support from all our players, coaches,
parents and officials and we're sure that with all their help, the club will continue
its success as we head into 2012."

Peter Seymour was named as the Sussex Unsung Hero for 2011, for his commitment to the club over the last 30 years.
