Kettering Premier Judo
Club were again among the winners at this year’s Kettering Sports
Awards as they claimed two awards at Wicksteed Park on Wednesday
27 October.
The East Midlands club
won the Developmental Club of the Year for the third year in a
row and Coach Kevin Simons took the Volunteer of the Year Award.
Among the club’s widespread
success has been attracting four whole families to practice the
sport, with mums taking to the mat in the beginner’s class on
a Saturday.
Kettering Premier also
hold a bronze clubmark award which is a quality accreditation
recognised by the British Judo Association and Sport England.

The highly-active club
have hosted beginners and development camps this year as well
as masterclass sessions with famed former British coach Roy Inman
and former world and European champion Craig Fallon.
The club train at William
Knibb Centre Dojo, Alfred Street, Kettering, Northants, NN16 8AE.
Junior beginners train on Tuesday and Thursday at 18:30 – 19:30
while Juniors (advanced) train on the same days at 19.30-20.30.
Adults train 20:30 – 21:45 on both days Junior
beginners also train on Saturday at 10:00 – 11:00 while senior
beginners follow at 11:00 – 12:00.
