Horncastle Judo Club won
the second edition of the Lincolnshire Tri Club Challenge as they
defeated hosts and inaugural winners Cherry Willingham along with
Acorn Judo Club on Saturday 19 November.
Horncastle’s under eight’s
team took gold while their over eight’s team captured silver and
their open section all claimed individual medals.

Club coach Trevor Jacklin
said: “All players fought their hearts out and it shows the level
of commitment from our children in the sport of judo and I congratulate
them all.
“As Horncastle club coach
it fills me with pride at everyone’s involvement and commitment
to the event with other clubs in the area now wanting to join
in the challenge it can only grow and highlight what a wonderful
sport we are involved in.”
Trevor continued: “With
our very own Olympics just around the corner it is our duty to
maintain a very high level of judo at grass roots level and within
our clubs which I think we are achieving in reaching our bronze
club mark in record time. I would like to thank all our volunteers
and my family for supporting me and the club in our ever growing
club with our new venture at Gartree after school club starting
in December.”
Horncastle Judo Club train
at Stanhope Hall, Boston Road, Horncastle, LN9 6NF. On a Tuesday
and Thursday juniors train at 18.00 – 19.30 while seniors follow
at 19.30 – 21.00.
