The University College have secured funding from Sport England which enables them to run a new and exciting Flexsi Project to encourage students to increase their current levels of physical activity.

University College Falmouth are committed to seeing greater numbers of their students becoming more active, more often, over this coming academic year and beyond. In order to achieve this aim a number of partners have come together to plan, organise and deliver a programme of recreational and sporting activities which will entice students into trying something new to them.

The Olympic sport of Judo is one activity which Adryan Winnan and Hanna Royle from the University College Falmouth are enthusiastic to include upon the Flexsi Project programme of activities offered for students. Likewise Karen Edmond from Carrick Leisure is also a supporter for the inclusion of Judo upon the Flexsi Project programme appreciating the many benefits the practice of Judo can provide students in respect of health and emotional wellbeing.

Jason Beer the Head Coach of Mid Cornwall Judo Kwai which is a British Judo Association club will be providing coaching support for students at Tremough Campus and is pleased to be involved with this new innovative project to inspire more young people to be physically active and enjoy benefits of fun recreational activity on a regular basis.

"I look forward to starting the project and judo is a great way for young people to improve their fitness, balance, coordination and agility,” said the highly-regarded coach.

Jason invites all students to check out what judo can offer them by talking with him at the Freshers Fayre which is being held at the University College Falmouth, Tremough Campus on Sunday 2 October.
