Yorkshire’s high-flying
Barnsley Judo Club has scooped two regional Club of the Year awards
as they continue to make a mark in the region.
The standout club received
the top prize at the 2011 Barnsley Sports Awards as well as British
Judo’s Yorkshire and Humberside club accolade at their first awards
evening.

Judo’s Regional Development Officer, said: “The awards are a great
testament to the club’s hard work and are very well deserved.
"The club’s players
love practicing the sport and they’re continuing to attract more
talent through School2Dojo links.”

Paul Sammon, Barnsley
Judo Club Secretary, said: “We’re delighted to receive the awards
and have to thank all our coaches, officials, players and everyone
who has supported us.
"We’re always looking
to add new members and we cater for all levels.”
Barnsley Judo Club meets
on Monday and Thursday at Holgate School gymnasium Juniors 6-8pm
