On Saturday
7th August, the Team GB Judo Squad, will depart for the
British Olympic Association’s Holding Camp in Cyprus,
their final stop before the Olympic Games in Athens.
The eight athletes together with Performance
Director, Udo Quellmalz, Women's Team Manager, Diane Bell,
Men's Team Manager, Mac Abbots and support staff will spend
six days at the camp based at a quiet resort near to the
town of Paphos.
The squad will
make the journey to Athens on Thursday 12 August, one day
before the opening ceremony.

Chief Executive of British Judo said: "On behalf of the
Board, Commissions, Staff and Membership of the British
Judo Association may I take this opportunity to wish our
elite squad the very best of luck in Athens.
"We are
all fully aware that the qualification process for this Olympiad
has been the most difficult to date and you have each
achieved a very real and significant objective by booking
your passage on this elite trip. That said, I'm sure you
will agree that we are not finished yet! Rest assured
you have our full support and we will all be keeping a
close eye on your progress and results. We are very confident
that this might just be a special year. Enjoy and give
it your best - that is all anyone can ask."
