Commenting Udo Quellmalz, British Judo's Performance Director said: "Whilst the draw can be favourable in some categories, if we want to be the best and win medals we must beat the best along the way at some point. Whether this be in the first round or later stages. We are not in control of the draw but what we can do is ensure that all our players are optimally prepared"

Great Britain's first judo competitor will be Craig Fallon in the Men's -60kg category on Saturday 14th August.

Craig could meet Zinitridis of Greece, a silver medallist in the European Championships, in the second round, but they both have to win their first rounds against Fernandis of Australia and Zokirov of Uzbekistan respectively first.

European champion Paischer of Austria will face Korea's World Champion Choi in the first round and reigning Olympic Champion Nomura will face Germany's Gussenberg.
